About

My journey to becoming a psychotherapist began with a desire to better understand myself. Throughout my training I have been interested in ideas that promote dignity, spirituality, social justice and a working understanding of power and difference.

My experience began in the voluntary sector working with a charity who provided drugs counselling and other services to young people up to age 25.

From this I worked in the statutory sector where I worked with young offenders then I moved to CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health) NHS provision, and finally I worked within Social Care providing supporting to children and their families as well as the Social Workers who supported them.

Over time (also as I got older) I wanted to learn more and develop my expertise in other areas so I did more training to become a Family and Systemic Psychotherapist and a Psychosexual and Couples therapist. I have worked both inside adult NHS provision and externally in private practice with adults, children and young people.

In the last 20 years I have worked extensively with a variety of concerns that include anxiety, depression, sex, sexual abuse, sexuality and the emotional stresses that arise from different identity concerns.

I have also worked with trauma, loss, bereavement and separation. This list is not intended to be exhaustive but is an indication of the types of suffering people have sought help for.

I provide a safe place for you to be seen and heard. This space provides the foundation and security to face the depths often necessary in the work. I see our relationship as integral to the healing process. My relationship is partly influenced by my training.
