Working Agreement

  • I understand the nature of the commitment which I am making. I understand that I must not attend therapy under the influence of non-prescribed drugs or alcohol and sessions will not take place if I arrive in a condition which is not conducive to the therapeutic process.
  • I give explicit permission for my therapist, if the need arises, to contact me by e-mail or text message; I will ensure that messages can be received confidentially by me.
  • I understand that my appointments are held for me and that non-attendance will incur me in paying the full fee.
  • I understand that my therapist requires 2 working days notice for cancellation of weekly appointments of 5 working days notice for cancellation of fortnightly appointments.
  • Fees are payable at the time, monthly in advance or by BACS payment.
  • It is important that you arrive on time for your session, as we will need to finish at the agreed time. If you arrive early, you may interrupt the previous session.
  • I understand that my therapist prescribes to a Humanistic-Integrative philosophy and incorporates psychosexual and relationship work within this orientation.
  • I understand the boundary between therapy, assessment and consultancy and appreciate that my therapist may have a duality of roles. I understand that he will work within ethical guidelines.
  • I understand that my therapist will keep brief records of our sessions.
  • I understand that my therapist will not undertake to hold information, which is detrimental or dangerous to a third party, or me.
  • Therapy can be reviewed at any time. The therapist and the client may terminate the therapy with one month’s notice.
  • In case of a grievance I undertake to discuss this with my therapist; if this can not be resolved I may invoke the therapists’ complaints procedure.
  • Holidays – there are no sessions over the two weeks covering Easter and Christmas. I will endeavour to give 4 weeks notice of holiday dates.
  • Confidentiality will be maintained at all times except where a concern presents that you will experience serious harm or you will be involved in harming someone else.
